Intoxicating nose of blueberries and boysenberries. Great nose!

August 15, 2023 - love these wines - this was a bit riper but with excellent balance and can be enjoyed now.
February 15, 2023 - Medium body and smooth tannins. More dark fruits with a tinge of sweetness at the end. Easy drinking and goes well with food, incl seafood.
February 13, 2023 - Surprisingly closed. Big too. I’m not sure if it’s just this bottle or if this really does need years.
October 8, 2022 - This is a wonderful wine. Dark red in colour and good acidity , Surprisingly this was tight on opening and blossomed after an hour of being opened . This has a beautiful sweetness and good tannin structure . Flavours of dark fruit mostly cherry. Very good length. This wine will age well for a long time.
September 25, 2022 - Dark berries, earth, mushrooms, very cote de nuit style. Perfect acidity, tannins. All in balance, really good
August 12, 2022 - Excellent aromatics and best when it was open about 30 min. Started fading after an hour or so. Don’t think it’s going to get better w age.
August 5, 2022 - The 2009 La Pousse d’Or Volnay 1er Cru features beautiful red and black fruit on the nose. I quite like that this is more masculine than usual for Volnay. Medium bodied, dark fruits, with earth, mushroom, and dried herbs. Grippy tannins and a long satisfying dark fruit finish. Opened up after an hour decant. This will continue to deliver for a decade or more.
March 2, 2022 - Drinking very well after a double decant. Great balance. Dark fruits. Lovely nose. Clean and medium finish. While missing some nuance in palate and perfume in the nose, it shows extremely well the lovely fruit of the vintage, how well that fruit ages, and has a lovely mouthfeel and entry.
February 23, 2022 - Lighter style but fruity aand class.
