December 2, 2023 - Opened for an hour or so; no decant. This seems nicely mature, but what complexity it may have had was overwhelmed by the highly spiced lamb barbacoa main dish prepared by our host. (IDK what WOULD have paired with such a dish, but I'm happy to report that this 2004 is going strong. One bottle left; I'll try for a more intelligent pairing next time.

November 25, 2023 - Loved this. Gorgeous aromas of black fruit and earth burst from the bottle upon extraction of the pristine cork. Very youthful, quite surprising for an almost 20 year old wine. So very delicious to sip on. Can’t go wrong here.

November 18, 2023 - This is pretty nice for the vintage. Not sure where it is going. Perhaps leaning on drinking now with a decant to get rid of the green edge.

October 1, 2023 - Purple in color. 13% ABV. Beautiful nose of black fruits, cedar, cigar box and wet leaves. Big, plush and concentrated. There is an opulence to the fruit that belies the challenges of the vintage. Black currants, creme de cassis, tobacco and earth on the palate. The finish is long with prominent, gritty tannins. Really nice Bordeaux from a year that was overshadowed by the 03 and 05 vintages. I'll check in on my last bottle in 2-4 years.
