September 11, 2022 - Ruby to the edge. This opens lean and tight with rigid blackberry and soil, but some air brings out more texture, blue fruit, herbs, and a deep bitter chocolate note. I am very happy with it now. Much more structured to age than the vast majority of 2009's.

June 22, 2022 - decanted one hour, some fine silt sediment. startling deeply-colored & youthful; rambunctious bramble & earth show little advance from a bottle nearly 2 years ago; worked great w/food.

steak sandwich w/Black Krim tomato & St. Agur

May 16, 2022 - Surprisingly deep ruby for 13 year old Gamay. Penetrating brambly black fruit and herb aromas. Light to medium weight. Tart, high acidity, and great salinity. Soil-filled finish. Not your usual broad, sweet 2009. Excellent, especially with food.

September 19, 2020 - decanted 45 min, some fine particulate. burnished garnet w/ruby edge; exuberant nose, shows the warm vintage, crushed red & black berries; mid-weight; burly at the outset & remained fairly linear over several hours; good & juicy, notable earthiness appeared although never reached an elevated profile; enough acid & structure to drink well for a while. performed well w/a classic supper. wishing to be in Lyon - close as possible.

roast young chicken w/its juices; bacon-braised romano beans w/dijon; schmaltz-roasted shallots & rose fir fingerling potatoes w/thyme & garlic
