September 30, 2021 - 1/6. Well, this is very pleasant. Quite full and sweet for a Kab, but nicely balanced and with a freshness on the finish that carries its line nicely. Lightens with air and overnight. White flowers, the slightest hint of creamy vaseline, and some light, faintly tropical fruit. Still quite youthful. ****

March 11, 2016 - Excepcional produtor! E um baita vinho! Feito com uma das 2 uvas brancas que mais gosto! A Riesling!

March 12, 2013 - Quite a bit of menthol/eucalyptus on the nose but still luscious and fresh. Some tropical fruits on the nose (pineapples, apricot), as well as lemon and apple. Quite 'big' on both the nose and the palate with flavours of ripe yellow fruit and decent amount of minerality/stone to the finish. It was somewhat interesting for a kabinett but it was also not memorable for me. Drink now for another 5-6 years

January 4, 2013 - Partners' Dinner (Wild Rocket, Singapore): I thought this was a really solid 2009 Kabinett. It had a nicely expressive nose nose, with ripe fruited aromas of tropical lychee, pineapples and sweet lemons, a hit of summer flowers, and theb lots of slatey mineral accents underneath. The palate showed a rather rich attack, with the muscle and power typical of Weil showing in its ripe flavours of lemons and apples, with a hint of pineapples on the midpalate. Really quite punchy and deep for a Kabinett, but in spite of its richness, this was still drier and more citrus than the nose would have led one to expect, with a wonderful stream of juicy acidity that was quite un-2009. This gave the wine a really fresh, clean feel, even more than some Mosels from the vintage. Good, strong finish too, underscored with lovely minerality. My only grouse was that this was still very primary, hence a bit simple, but it is a solid wine with plenty of potential. I enjoyed this, and expect it to be even better 3-4 years down the road.
