June 23, 2012 - Nice simple gamay. Light, balanced, drinkable, affordable.

March 25, 2012 - This as not showing at it's best, or at least what I was expecting. It was on sale at Greene's, and may possibly have been a little shop worn. I don't have that much experience tasting Beaujolais that is not the simple village designation, or Nouveau. It certainly did not have that exuberant fruit style we expect from young Gamay. It did have some structure and character behind the fruit. Even the color was less of that fresh purple, and more brownish red. There still is plenty to like. Though the fruit is not what I expected, it is still quite adequate, and supported with some spicy herbal flavors. Just past medium bodied. not much, or any oak. Mature rather than fresh. Balanced. Some leather and black cherry on the finish.

February 13, 2012 - Sweet smelling notes of plump ripe strawberries and raspberries show initially on the nose. Red rose petals and violets seem to bloom out of the glass, with notes of Concord grapes and a subtle hint of limestone showing on the edges.

Ripe, soft and supple with a fresh acidity on the palate, this wine is defined by red fruit and flower petals. A hint of limestone along with its dusty tannins add some additional depth, which is further developed as notes of leather, mushrooms, and beet peels make an appearance toward the finish. This is an interesting wine with a surprising earthiness, offering a somewhat different departure from what most might expect from a Beaujolais.

December 26, 2011 - Nice Beaujolais. Opened well but needed more time than expected. Fruit but more balanced than most of the region.

March 22, 2010 - Some Cru Beaujolais, Courtesy of Red Slate Wines: The nose reminds me of violets and strawberries along a clear mountain stream. Dusty but softer tannins set in right away, and the strawberry flavors come in lightly on the mid palate. I like how the fruit and dust lingers on the finish, but somewhere in the middle there's a bit of a green note.
