June 16, 2019 - Drinking nicely! Still could go a few more years. Nice secondary/age characteristics, but enough fruit to continue to age.
February 18, 2018 - Finishing up. Little bit of fruit left, mostly black cherries, dried fruit, raisins, etc. However, very nice finish.
November 1, 2017 - Wow! Violets and tannins that carry the floral notes to the finish. Great grip. Drinking beautifully right now.
December 2, 2016 - Opened Nov 2016 needed an hour to open up. 87 within the first hour low 90s after opened up when the finish developed more. Definitely needs decanting
February 6, 2016 - This Merlot again reminds me of what a great vintage 2007 was. The evidence of pronounced fruit still persists although the graceful aging of this wine has put the blackberry and black cherry into the background where it is now harmonized with notes of cassis, cigar box, cedar with the finish yielding a smoothness of a fine piece of chocolate.
This wine is drinking perfectly right now and there ant not a lot of residual tannins but it should continue on for a few more years yet. Good job on this, Miner!
December 14, 2014 - Soft, plum, blueberry, sweet tannins, long finish
September 24, 2014 - Sweet tannins plums and hints of chocolate and licorice. Could age a little longer.
March 31, 2014 - we loved this wine much more than CT average 89
After about 1 hour open, rich, full flavor and balanced. Hold it mid palate for more flavor surprises. Delicious!
January 22, 2014 - Consistent with prior bottles, nice fruit, good backbone, stood up to steak very well. Tannins were present but not unruly.
September 27, 2013 - Very good.
