July 20, 2019 - Good wine. Very earthy nose. Soft on the mouth with black cherry and a white pepper finish.

April 15, 2016 - Popped and poured for dinner of Italian pastas. This was a little funky at first, but that disappeared after a few minutes. The nose remained pleasant but subtle. Color was dark maroon. Taste featured cherries, spice, & menthol. Very smooth with little tannic backbone at this point. The high point was the fruit -- it has maintained a luscious fruit profile. I wouldn't wait much longer on this one. Always believe a six year wait on good PN is worth it!

July 12, 2014 - Proof that Elk Cove really knows what they're doing with Pinot Noir, and that 2008 was a really great year for Oregon PN. Poured both glasses straight from the bottle. Big, spicy, a little meaty, nice cherry-berry fruit. Wonderful.

December 29, 2012 - Popped and poured with roasted chicken, then finished the next night. Aroma of black cherry, with a hint of coffee. Taste has cherry, ubt it is a bit more on the red cherry side. It had quite a bit of acidity on the first night, but it had subsided quite a bit on the 2nd night. This didn't seem to have a lot of character to it, nor did it have some of the classic smoothness that I like out of Oregon Pinots.

July 23, 2012 - Opened 2 hours before pouring. Primarily dijon clones; interesting change from Elk Cove's pommard driven estate single vineyard wines. Red fruit and forest floor on the nose. Good balance and medium finish. Should be very special in a few more years.
