September 14, 2015 - Excepcional.

June 28, 2013 - What an outstanding Pinot, full of fruit, balance, length. Absolutely adore it and just as good as last years bottle.

July 18, 2012 - Spectacular bottle of wine, esp at it's price point hence the 96 rating. Just did not want to stop drinking this wine. Beautifully balanced and light, silky but with pronounced fruit and a supporting but unobtrusive acid and mineral backbone. One gets all of the fuit and concentration without any clawing, heaviness or jamminess. It is quite obvious that this is a "modern" pinot, but I'd venture that even someone with a classic palate will still enjoy (as I did). A delightfully playful wine. Drank great as soon as we opened the bottle but settled more and more as the night wore on. I understand this inwe to be biodynamic and am a big believer in the natural method when it comes to wines. I would search for more of this wine and am now quite curious about other Patagonia Pinots.

April 11, 2011 - Wanted to add this on first impression then come back and finish it after I've tasted. Just bought and opened this 20 minutes ago from a Buenos Aires retailer. I have no decanter but poured a few ounces to smell and see what develops. My first impression is that it is nothing like the Barda. This has a much stronger nose, sweeter and more nuanced. There is a strong almost candied green apple component. Followed by what I would call a dulce de leche sweetness that rises up and beyond the candied apple smells. There is a backing earthy character and some alcohol poking around the edges. I'm hoping that with an hour or two of air these will integrate as they are all interesting flavors, but very distinct.

First taste is that its not as sweet as it smells but the components are disjoint and the finish is hotter than expected. Certainly the wine has all the components to be good, only some airtime will tell if it was 90 well spent.

45 minutes on the sweetness has really subsided. This has integrated the alcohol has retreated. There is a nice hint of resinous structure. This has become good. Now for 90 bucks lets hope it goes from good to great.

After several hours it had oscillated several times. Getting a bit, but never too hot. Getting sweet but not as sweet as on first impression. Overall I think its a good well made pinot. For the price though I'm disappointed. At 90 dollars you should be standing toe to toe with most of the finest premier cru burgundies and even some grands crus. If I found this wine again in the 40 dollar range I'd buy a bottle again. Final opinion good, different, interesting, not great.

April 8, 2011 - Wow! Now that's what I want from Pinot Noir! This was sooo far above the Barda in terms of class... The cork was pulled more than 5 hours before I got to drink this, and the result was absolutely stunning. A very lovely, silky, velvety wine... Very fragrant, sweet like bubblegum, minty with a little forest. Sooo soft and luscious it was like a fluffy pillow with a satin pillowcase that I just wanted to hug and fall asleep with...
