April 2, 2013 - still has some fruit on the palate, well rounded in pinot style, drinking well now

November 17, 2010 - Shaping up to be the region's best red (well historically at least). Lovely soft and creamy berry and leafy on the nose. Very cabernet dominant despite the presence of shiraz and malbec. Fruits look tired at at the edge of the drinking window but regardless hold a certain appeal. Faint berry and some green cab fruits. A touch acidic and this may contribute to a mild citrus note that runs right through the palate. Points for the aromas.

July 6, 2008 - 1st AWFS Wine Dinner @ Buono (Buono Restaurant): A suprise wine throw in for fun. Another surprisingly fresh though aged wine and AUSSIE!! of all things.Wow! At least , it shows that aussie wines can be cellared. This has simple delicate sweet strawberry nose with a pure beam of ribena blackcurrants on the palate. Not a Wow-ser but just so suprising that its aussie and 14 years old! Good effort!

July 5, 2008 - Piedmont dinner (Buono Restaurant, Singapore): Thrown in blind by Alex - I knew he had bought this sometime back and actually guessed it correctly. The garnet colour showed its age, while the sweet oak and cassis notes shouted "new world". Some secoondary leafy tones added interest on the nose and the palate. Palate was just as sweet as the nose, with soft tannins and overt ripe cassis character - almost ribena like. Rather simple and short on the finish, but still fresh and very, very decent at its price. Excellent vallue.

October 7, 2005 - Well, this is probably the fifth in a series of lone wines I thought had been consumed. This program is killing me (well really it is the forced inventory). Anyway, this was the best of the recent group of misfits. Deep dark red. My wife guessed a 99 or 01 Cali or a 00 cru bourgois bord from the color. I noticed a bit of fading at the rim, but not much for an 11 year old wine. Nose of red fruit, some spice, maybe some tobacco. Very pleasant nose. On the palate, this is a nice wine. Decent extract, but not overdone, more like a nicely extracted 95 bordeaux than a typical aussie fruit bomb. This is clearly made from ripe grapes. Sweet red fruits on the palate, with a tobacco and coffee undercurrent. The finish was a bit short. Started to fade after being open for about 3 hours, but ready for drinking now. This is probably as good as it will get. If you have 'em left (I don't) I'd drink these in the next year or two. If the finish were longer, this would've been a 92. Would make a great ringer in a tasting of either 94 Cali Cabs or 95 Bordeaux.
