April 15, 2018 - Lots of black fruit and pepper. Good acidity. Perfect with braised short ribs

May 28, 2015 - This was a wonderfully big wine. The nose had some vegetive scents and maybe seemed a bit hot. Flavor (and alcohol percentage) was not hot, but full of dark fruit, spice, earth and a bit of anise. It is a dry wine with well balanced tannins and a really long spicy finish. Really sorry not to have more of this wine.

March 9, 2014 - Decanted 4 hrs. plus or minus an hour. 100% Mourvedre. Not the most aromatic wine I’ve had in the last few months, but perhaps one of the most tastiest and satisfying. While some soft, sweet smelling red fruit came out with swirling, the real joy here was just to taste the damn thing, and all is good. Dark cherry fruit contains both a sweet and slightly tart edge and some shades of tree bark. Great and fine balance between the tannic and acid structure, very seamless. Has the satisfaction of being a fruit bomb, but without actually going down that road. Meticulous winemaking here has often the case with this producer. Firmly falls into the camp of ‘could age longer but ridiculously hard not to drink today camp’. I can’t think of a better new world Mourvedre.

    May 10, 2013 - Update: 5-9-13
Just drank my last bottle, forgetting I had had this earlier this year. This time 12hr decant and a touch on day two. Plenty of acid, plenty of spice, plenty of life left. Would've saved this bottle for a minimum of two years from now had I known...
