February 2, 2021 - Everyone told me this was over the hill. Glad I didn’t listen. While its Syrah dominant it was the Grenache that stole the show. Red flowers and blueberry notes. An incredibly pretty wine and as others have commented, nicely integrated with oak after all this time. Some lovely basil aromatics on the nose. It did not have an extended finish so don’t expect a lot from this and you’ll be pleased.

November 15, 2018 - Improved a great deal in a couple of years. More integrated and restrained than before. Beautiful. Alc. is barely noticeable, which is saying something when it’s 16.2.

May 10, 2016 - Thought I was drinking an Aussie Syrah. Wow, big wine.

July 7, 2014 - No formal notes but this far exceeded my expectations. Seamless pillowy fruit with a touch of herbal complexity, not jammy or hot. Would it hold my interest for an entire bottle?

May 5, 2013 - The wine is a medium to dark ruby red color. The outstanding nose has blackberries, blueberries, Asian spices, licorice, freshly cracked black peppercorns, dark bittersweet chocolate, with some nice earthiness. This has full body, fairly solid ripe tannins, and nice acidity. On the palate there are loads of berries and spice up front with dark chocolate and earthiness coming in on the back end. The finish is very long with black pepper and a touch of sweet cherries and a floral note coming into the picture. This is in a nice drinking window and will be enjoyable over the remainder of the decade.

April 29, 2013 - Spectacular and an amazing QPR to boot. Perhaps the stars aligned for this wine, but it was showing beautifully. Powerful, but not overpowering, blue fruits, and an incredible finish. Splash decanted and followed over 3 hours. Kept improving throughout. Sadly, the winery is sold out.

April 23, 2011 - Undeniably Paso fruit. Decanted 1 hour, consumed over 3. Huge nose of sweet grenache fruit (strawberry, underbrush) Palate is more of the same which started off a little too hot for my taste, but after a glass seemed to calm down a bit. Huge wine that isn't for everyone, but if you like this style you should be pleased. Reminded me of the '05 Saxum Booker that I had last December, but with a more medium weighted texture.

January 15, 2011 - No official note. Very good, loads of spicy fruit, got better the more air it received.

November 26, 2010 - Made from co-fermented Grenache (70%) and Syrah (30%) aged in French oak for 19 months. At a whopping 16.2%, this is a blockbuster of a wine alcohol wise. The nose shows dark berry fruit pie and cream characters. The palate is full bodied and savoury with characteristic fine grained tannins. Long dry finish. 54 cases produced.
