April 6, 2024 - Very nice floral aromas. Rounded tannins with nicely integrated acidity. Rounded mouthfeel. Dark fruit flavors with a long finish. Nicely done with some years to go. Drinking perfectly now.
February 17, 2024 - Prior notes by SDOG is spot on. Nothing on the nose. The alcohol was overwhelming with no fruit just raisin and prune notes with wood. In prior years this was much better. Times past on these which given the vintage indicates Tapestry is meant for short to medium term drinking not this long.
August 10, 2023 - Nose didn’t show much, mostly alcohol, burnt wood, and spice, no fruit.
In the mouth, it was a full bodied wine with still quite noticeable tannin. Fruit has mostly faded with just some raisin/prune notes. Finish was a little hot and slightly unbalanced with too much oak and spice. Not elegant at all and the wine felt like a brute. Was better with a fatty rib-eye and with some air, but overall, felt a bit past prime. The wine was too savory with little acidity and no fruity flavors for my palate.
Drink now
May 19, 2023 - good
March 12, 2023 - Drinking very young, loads of dark fruit, cassis, blackberry,, hints of cedar and spice, but still too youthful at 16 years old for a lot of secondary notes, integrated tannins, very enjoyable, maybe lacked a little structure/backbone.
January 14, 2023 - Pretty floral aromas. Dark fruit and licorice with menthol on the edges. Tannins are soft and acidity fresh. Medium+ finish.
December 19, 2022 - It’s been more than a year since my last bottle of the ‘07 Tapestry and this bottle was just as excellent as those drunk last year. A combination of a delectable sweet Cabernet-focused nose with consistent and silky plum/dark fruit flavors is hard to beat. Very enjoyable, even after the final 1/2 bottle spent 2 days corked in the fridge. Glad to have a few bottles left.
November 24, 2022 - Dark color no brown, slight tan in, very well balanced. Will keep 5yrs or more.
November 23, 2021 - This is the third tasting of the Tapestry over an eight year period. The cork broke in half which gave cause for concern, the bottom part showing off a deep stain, nearly black. That normally bodes well for me, except the failed cork part.
The wine still has a lovely purple hue with a touch of orange bricking. The nose gives off tons of leather, tobacco, some red currants and black cherry. The palate is focused and concentrated. Tertiary flavors are forefront- earthiness, that parched tobacco and leather … black fruits appear after a while but it’s not a seamless transition. The wine has very integrated tannins and a nice streak of acidity. It’s holding up well for 13 years old, but I would drink by 2027. It has evolved well and will continue to soften, shedding the fruit along the way. It’s a nice Napa Cab that gets 90 points from me and can be found for $55. 4 stars.

November 6, 2021 - Delicious red - drunk over two days. Hardly any change day to day. Full bodied; concentrated blackberry and plum.
