Community Tasting Notes 4

July 21, 2012 - Color is medium garnet, transparent and limpid. Nose has a very nice floral lift, along fresh plum, dark cherries and some vegetal and lactic notes. Palate is medium bodied at most, but very flavorful with fresh plum, licorice, earthy spice and dark cherry. Good balance between slightly coarse grained tannins, acidity and fruit. Alcohol although at 13,5% shows a little. Very enjoyable light bodied but aromatic Chianti Classico Riserva.

March 4, 2012 - I first wanted to give this bottle a higher score but it finishes bitter and with some alcoholic heat. The wine is spicy and plummy on the nose with evidence of oak. On the palate it is rich, full-bodied by Chianti standards with medium-high acid and fierce tannin. This is so much different than the Felsina Rancia from the same vintage. Good juice maybe but only for the long haul and I worry that nothing can cover up that back palate burn....

    February 10, 2012 - A fantastically smooth chianti! Give it a shot

May 27, 2011 - Aromatic with herbs, cherry, flowers, red fruit, licorice; intense mouth and long finish. Killer Chianti, complex, with a long finish.
