December 10, 2021 - Christmas Wimps 2021 - It's a Wonderful Life (La Trompette): Lovely, a fragrant, almost ecclesiastical nose. Lovely mouthfeel - really coats the palate. I struggle to describe Chablis, somehow haven't built up the right vocabulary, but this was a lovely wine, not overly showy, but quietly powerful.

September 8, 2021 - Burgundy Dinner with Friends (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Popped-and-poured. In Dauvissat 2009 flight. Clearly mature, but good richness to start. This fell off the cliff quickly.

July 20, 2021 - My first Dauvissat, and you can color me impressed. Distinguished more by its purity and length, I think, than by its complexity. But the purity and length are impressive. The note directly below provides a pretty accurate description. Shame that this bottling is now $100+.

July 6, 2021 - Deep yellow. White flower, lemon, and sea spray. The barest hint of honeyed maturity. Rich, glycerine feel but not overripe whatsoever. In fact, thrilling tart orange peel and limestone. I couldn't help but compare this to the much looser, woody 2010 AC Chablis from Raveneau we had the other night. This was finer and just brimming with the essence of Chablis that were nowhere to be found in that wine. Outstanding stuff without a doubt, and all this despite the ripe reputation of the vintage. It is not urban legend--many Dauvissat wines from richer vintages somehow have the ability to pare down and wind up as more classic bottles with time.
