April 13, 2024 - Again a pristine bottle, the 2009 needed some years to get rid of their baby fat, but since 4-5 years, they are really good. Not any issue with premox or other problems: clear color, ripe citrus with iodine, oyster shells and high salinity. Dense with very good length. A bunch of other Chablis producers would like their Grand Crus on this level.

February 29, 2024 - This really comes to life with time in the glass, and I will probably decant it next time. Once it loosens up and loses its initial chill, it displays a great complexity and shows an exquisite precision and balance. It has the qualities of a Grand Cru Chablis. The nose is classic with oyster shell, seashore, and citrus fruit. The palate has developed in the last year, and now shows distinct honeysuckle notes with hints of orange and a sharp citrus bite. With the right bottle, this should be good for at least another decade at this level, and was made just after the dreaded premox era.

February 27, 2024 - Light golden color. Clearly from a riper vintage, but the flavor is correct for the age and vintage. Definitely not premoxed. Classic Chablis flavors of stone and white flowers but with a heavier tone and too much richness. Very good drinking now but I would drink this soon. It is just a bit on the first side of the down hill slide.

December 12, 2023 - Color is light straw. On the nose: Lemon, orange, honeysuckle, white flowers and lots of minerals. On the palate: Orange (predominant )lemon, grapefruit(hint), honeysuckle, almonds / touch of marzipan. This is a beautiful bottle of wine. It is refined, has good length and a nice weight for a Chablis. Plenty of life in this.

November 3, 2023 - Light yellow color, fantastic nose of iodine and citrus. It is already clear that this is Chablis and nothing else. On the palate dense, even big ripe citrus (more orange than lemon) and the typical iodine salinity. Coming from a clearly ripe year, but having the structure and tension kept. Again a confirmation that Dauvissats 2009 are since about three years in a very good drinking spot.

October 17, 2023 - Lacking some acidity here, bottle is in ok condition, much lighter than and perhaps a mistake next to a 14 Rav. 90-91

August 20, 2023 - Ripe but lean with good linearity and wonderful aromas. Clean with no signs of POX. Vibrant fruit with citrus up front, and some crisp apple like notes to follow all warped up with a nice mineral, brine like finish which just melds beautifully into the wine. There is a beautiful delicacy to this wine which keeps it quite elegant and lacy where many other producer's wines tend to get heavier. Served at a dinner party with a good crowd around the table so only got to enjoy it over a short period. I suspect it probably would have offered even more if given a chance to enjoy over several hours so muy score may be conservative.

June 17, 2023 - Approaching its prime which based on this evidence, will linger on for a long time!

This wine does need decanting at the moment otherwise it is quite muted on the nose. A translucent green that is turning yellow. However, once it opens up, the nose is slightly oxidative with honey and nutty notes. Then other notes such as white flowers / floral and citrus notes emerge. Beautifully balanced body that has lost its puppy fat, with beautiful freshness and zing - lemon zest, minerals and wonderful tension. A honey and nutty finish just wants you to drink more. A truly delightful and well made wine. Went superbly well with carrot and orange soup.

    Drink now to 9+ years.
