September 2, 2017 - Much better than the last two bottles we drank last year. Perhaps they were flawed or another year of age has allowed this to come out and play. The fruits are less forward here, more leather and rocks, love that earthy volcanic mineral thing that Taurasi is capable of. On the nose lots of earth and mature dark fruit. Nice long finish - a big improvement on last years experiences.

July 29, 2016 - Decanted for 2.5 hours. Better than the last bottle we had, but for me this is just not a great bottle of wine. Deep, dark red in the glass - dense looking. Aromatics are minimal with a bit of dark cherry. On the palate dark bing cherry/blackberry fruit with volcanic minerality. The finish is a bit bitter though and not very long. Generally we find this wine to be lacking in the depth and complexity that we love in a good Taurasi. This is a bit monolithic and tiring on the palate - had a hard time finishing the last glass.

June 26, 2016 - 2004 Perillo Taurasi. Lang. Hver gang jeg åpner en Taurasi blir jeg like paff over hvor gode disse vinene fra Campania faktisk er. 91

September 18, 2015 - Popped and pored on Thursday night had a small glass - was sort of shut down in need of air. On Friday I decanted the rest of bottle for about 2 hours. It opened up some but I don't think this is ready to drink. We are huge Taurasi fans and this one was just not showing that much in terms of flavors or aromas - big alcohol and tannins yes - will let the other bottles lie down for another few years before trying again.
