  September 13, 2023 - I brought this to a big 2012 retrospective tasting of Napa Cabernet but wasn’t able to stop by my offsite in time to get a ‘12.
  
  Cork came out terribly. Double decanted 30-45 mins. 100% Cabernet. Sporting a deep purple color even at 15yrs. Just shy of explosive aromatics…ripe red and black fruits, mocha, cocoa powder. Sheer To-Kalon power on the palate with the velvet glove approach…layered dark fruits, black currant, cassis, charcoal and graphite. Mid-palate here has great depth and the finish is beautiful. This has evolved wonderfully. Pop now but no rush.

  March 17, 2023 - Brought this to Gibson's Italia in Chicago, dinner with Anne/Steve/Valerie. Good excuse to open a great bottle from a great vintner. Drank after a bottle of '21 Far Niente Chardonnay. Nicely decanted by the somms, cork came out clean, no real sediment.
  
  Garnet purple core, starting to fade some separation at the edge. Nose showing dark fruits, cocoa. Palate of blackberry, currants, plum, cassis, a bdx graphite in the back palate. Tannins resolved, smooth texture, persistent through the back palate. Medium body, long/medium finish.
  
  In a great spot. This was open for about 30 minutes prior to drinking. Prior bottles needed more time, this was ready much sooner. Age has done this well...great showing on this evening. A real treat to open this wine with friends. One of the better wines I have had this year.

  January 16, 2022 - PnP (30 min prior). One of the best wines we have had in recent memory. Beautifully harmony, bold, firm rounded tannins, tabaco, moca and black fruits. All coming to and endless finish…

  June 9, 2021 - Drinking perfectly right now. Beautifully balanced wine with blackberry fruit that integrates seamlessly with silky soft tannins. Subtle notes of cassis, graphite and dark chocolate on the finish. Needs only about an hour to hit full throttle. Sadly, this is my last bottle...another Realm gem.

  November 21, 2019 - Stunning wine that was served at a Realm dinner in Charleston, SC. Most of the wines opened were on the newer side (2016/2017). This wine was double decanted for 2 hours before tasted. Beautiful, dark, dusty, with lots of graphite and hint of floral notes. Deep rounded on the tongue with a long pleasurable finish. Just a beauty!
