April 10, 2013 - Not a bad sangiovese but nothing special. Some hints of mustiness, tongue drying tannins and decent acidity. This will not over power with fruit but is a decent mid week pizza/spaghetti wine.

February 27, 2012 - Unchanged in scoring or impression, but I have to admit that it struggles to blend with Shanghai Beef in a sweet/savory sauce (some hoison). This is a classic pizza wine. I still love Rosso or Brunello with just amount anything.

December 19, 2011 - Sour cherry with mild tannins in a dry red wine. Hints of cola provide depth. Had with Lasagna and it was an excellent match.

Not an outstanding wine, but a very nice one. It drank well, tasted well balanced and gave a glimpse into the soul of a Brunello at a fraction of the price. I'd buy it again, readily. Enjoyable and a good food wine. Much better than most of the chianti's I've had lately.

    December 2, 2011 - Meh; nothing special

October 15, 2011 - Great nose of red cherry and spices with notes of cedar. On the palate it shows a tart fruitiness: red cherry and blackcurrant. There is earth and notes of cola coming out too, but they are soon cut by its harsh tannins. Surprising for a Rosso. The next day it tasted much softer. I probably should have used a decanter; however I would recommend to let it sit for a few years. It doesn’t have the body and complexity of a Brunello, but it definitely has very similar features (retail $16.99)
