July 3, 2019 - This is coming together so nicely right now. Several years left in the bottle, but sadly my last bottle. Delicious now. Drink or hold.

November 8, 2014 - A great showing, lithe and succulent. Very engaging. High toned, hints of clementine and ginger. Age has treated this well, best showing since release. Could go longer, too bad this was my final bottle. Quarzit remains a go to for me.

November 13, 2013 - Stony mineral aromas. A little grape-y. Crystal aromas. On the palate, rather fleshy. Subtle and a pretty curvy wine.

March 1, 2013 - A laser beam, focus is an understatement. An electric verve, the acidity was incredibly bright. Based on this, needs 3-5yrs to mellow a bit. Great QPR, will be interesting to see if this rounds out. Much more interesting than previous bottle.

September 3, 2012 - Me an Quarzit go way back. Was one of my early "aha" QPR Germans with the '01 version. Among Quarzit vintages, I'd place this is in the middle of the pack. Acidity was there but the fruit didn't show as brightly. Not that I'm complaining much on a $13 wine. This a go-to each year and versatile. Tonight this was first with a quick app of smoked salmon, creme fraiche and chives on sea salt crackers. Was looking for a bit more sweetness from this to keep pace with the creme fraiche. It did ok. The wine is a bit greener than I expected with a solid backbone. About the driest version I can remember tasting.

August 8, 2012 - pretty good. A little heavier than the Mosel rieslings I usually like. But I overpaid at $22.

February 28, 2012 - Bought this for $10. I was not impressed. I thought it lacked balance. High in acid which showed itself with a tart edge (typical of Hexamer wines in my opinion). Rather linear at the moment. On the drier side but still an off dry wine. Hopefully this comes into balance soon because it is not a wine which is meant for long aging. 84 points
