June 17, 2019 - Decent wine. Better the second night. The little that was gassed after that had faded by the fourth night. This wine never achieved what I had anticipated.

    March 19, 2017 - Excellent wine.
Tasted especially better as it opened up and smell less earthy upon getting some air for about half an hour

March 4, 2017 - Whoops, found this buried in my cellar! Still had a good deal of life to offer, balanced and rich with great depth for a crianza. After a few hours it began to show its age as the fruit went flabby but still, nice bottle overall for 10 year old of this type.

February 25, 2017 - Bright ruby. Quite aromatic in the Spanish manner with abundant fruit (blackberry, dark cherry), spice, and oak (vanilla, toasted coconut). Robust, flavorful, not especially elegant but improves with a beef bourgignon. Some sharp edges mar the finish. Still, in a decent drinking window.

December 28, 2016 - Dry and short. Not much left I think.

November 5, 2016 - Funny, nobody expected anything from it and then it turned out to be quite nice. Smoothed out, burned off some of its wood character. Not my first choice in Ribera but still delicious.

August 7, 2016 - surprisingly great spanish red... was worried it had aged too long but it was excellent.

April 5, 2016 - Initial night was a bit sour. Came together the second night. Was not a great example of this wine. Bottle variation?

September 25, 2015 - I really like the Condado de Hazo. It is less oaked and more easy going than the impressive Pesquera Crianza. It has more veggie hints to the usual red, blue fruits and vanilla. Impressive density on the four square and tasty layered palate. Ends longish, zingy and savoury.
