November 21, 2020 - Color was comparable to most high end cabs in the 10-15 year old range- lots of subtle fruit with a lovely overlay of soft tannins -

April 12, 2016 - Decanted for 1 hour before drinking. Dark berries, cedar, oak and smoke. Still well balanced with good acid and long, smooth finish.

April 2, 2012 - 1992 California Cabernet Sauvignons (Tom's house in Palo Alto, California): Some browning on the edges. Generous nose with dark fruits, leather, spices and some hints of sweetness and glycerin. Soft palate. Tasted blind.

December 6, 2011 - Dinner at Larry & Karen's (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind. Decanted for approx. 60min. Lighter red in colour, lots of bricking. This had a very elegant nose a mix of red and blacks fruits, leather, tobacco and spice. Soft and delicate in the mouth and perfectly balanced with medium acidity, resolved tannins and a lengthy finish. Perhaps it was the fact that this was served to us in a Burgundy stem and the theme seemed to be Burgundy (or burgundy varieties), or maybe even the fact that we were on our 7th bottle, but I thought this might be pinot noir. Or maybe I just don’t know what the hell I’m talking about. This was a beautiful example of a fully mature Napa cab that I’d be happy to drink all day long. Excellent.

    June 27, 2011 - Pulled from Dad's cellar:

soft, graphite and so mellow! Really a wonderful wine that was so easy to enjoy; on the downslope, but worth a year or more if you need to wait.

June 8, 2011 - Top shoulder fill. Excellent capsule and cork. Decanted 30 minutes before tasting. Clear deep dark garnet-blood color. Bouquet of crushed oyster shells, leafy blackberries, blackberry liqueur, forest floor, hint of nutmeg and cloves. My initial thought was "good -- not meaty." Medium bodied, seamless on the palate, with smooth tannins and pleasing acidity. Still outstanding the next day under vacuum stopper.

June 8, 2011 - Very impressed by its depth and complexity. Very left bank like. Makes me wonder if napa will ever be this good Again given climate change.
