    February 21, 2016 - From magnum, popped and poured. Aromas of cedar, black currants, lavender and leather. Terrific fruit on the palate, picking up leather and dried forest floor notes on the finish.

    December 3, 2013 - Opened by Allred at the Haggis offline. 2nd time I have had this wine with the last being in 2006. This bottle was not as round and did not have as much fruit as the last one. Notes of licorice and grapeseeds. This had a little heat to it with gritty tannins. 89-90 points.

    November 30, 2013 - Double decanted briefly off its sediment back into the bottle. Dark color with notes of leather, plum, black fruit and roasted herbs. Full-bodied with slightly chalky tannins and flavors of currants, plum and leather. Not as open nor complex as previous bottles, but has plenty of fruit for the tannins and structure that this bottle showed; more power than elegance this time around. 92-93 pts.

    July 27, 2013 - General impression as this was opened after the blind tasting. Never heard of this producer before, but was impressed. Black fruits, tobacco and violets.

    July 27, 2013 - 4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Sue & Mike's): Notes of tobacco, black fruit, chocolate, cedar and violets. Medium-bodied with well-integrated tannins and flavors of black cherry, tobacco and dark fruit. Soft and elegant through the finish, with floral and red fruit tones. Not as complex or deep as the best examples of this wine that I have tasted, but still an excellent bottle nonetheless.

    November 24, 2012 - 4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Mike & Cyndi's): Inky crimson color, light meniscus. Aromas of leather, black currants, tobacco and spice box, violets and florals. Flavors black currants, leather, tobacco and florals. Medium-bodied and fully-integrated. Elegant, with a long finish. Guessed mid-90s cab.

    September 4, 2012 - Very California, with a capital C. Great bottle. A little fruit forward (as many Cal wines are, at least to me), but good acidity and balance. A pleasure to drink.

    March 2, 2012 - Dark color. Aromas of tobacco, ripe dark fruit and plum with perfumed floral overtones. Nicely balanced; just a slight bit of tannin though with a sweet edge. Dark fruit, tobacco and herb flavors dominate. Long finish dominated by dark fruit tones. 94+ pts.
