November 3, 2020 - Classic, tar, roses and dark cherry. Still has a fair bit of primary fruit. Very good. Decanted after first glass. No rush to drink. Very good.

January 23, 2019 - from magnum at Del Posto. Beautiful nose of roses. Well integrated with fine tannins requiring only minimal decanting. A pleasure to drink now or +5 to 10 years.

January 21, 2018 - Maybe there was bottle variance or even a flaw, but this was thin and unremarkable. We Vinturied it into a decanter, but even after some time it didn't develop any notable bouquet or richness. Very muted flavors.

December 19, 2012 - Better than last time as i slow oxd for 12 hours. However this is still hard and tannic so best to wait 5 years. The nose is great trademark nebbiolo - tar and roses galore. The palate is not as open for business - cherries but with strong chalky tannins. However i get the sense this could easily have a couple of points upside with some patience. The great point is that the oak is not as prominent as in the 2004 version - the 2006 seems more promising longer term.

August 12, 2012 - Translucent ruby. Quite bitter red fruit, recognizably Italian, with some tannin. Lighter-bodied but not easy to drink. Revisit in a few years.

March 18, 2012 - A bit Hard to evaluate now as rather tannic and unyielding - certainly much more so than previous versions (eg the more open 2004 at age 6). Some violet aromas and dusty tannins. Hold for a while.
