June 24, 2021 - Perhaps because of the warm vintage, this relatively young Grand Cru is already showing signs of age. Clear medium ruby fading at the rim.

Nose shows a persistent age note of soy sauce. Slightly out of balance with an overwhelming presence of cola with a ripe black cherry and strawberry fruit core. Slightly mineral with crushed stone.

This is a full wine with grippy, rustic tannins and medium acidity.

Flavours are austere and tart. The dominant root beer / cola note continues with earth, mushroom and leather.

    Long umami finish.

Still plenty of life ahead but I don't think this makes it to anywhere near 2060.

    Drink to 2035.

June 14, 2019 - Very good, very precise, very much grand cru....very much in need of a long decant or time laying down. Decanted for 2.5-3 hours and drank over an hour. Last glass the best. Still felt restrained. Will hold off maybe 2 years before I kill off the next one.

April 17, 2019 - Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of light ruby colour, with fading garnet rim and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of red fruit of cherries, strawberry and redcurrant, maturity notes of mushroom, animal notes of meaty, floral notes of rose, mineral notes of earth. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium alcohol, medium (-) body, with medium (+) flavours of red fruit of cherry and raspberry, floral notes of rose, mineral notes of earth, sweet spice of clove. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Bourgogne grand cru with great finesse and elegance, on the nose showing good intensity and nice complexity, still fairly young on the aromas but having an interesting hint of truffle and earthiness, the wine is in good balance, lively and vibrant, with reasonable concentration and a fairly long finish. It is ready to drink now though can benefit from further ageing of another 4-6 years.

December 4, 2018 - A really great wine. Drank blind alongside 4 other grand crus and this showed really well. Clear in the glass and a pale ruby. The nose is developing with mineral characteristics t accompany the fruit. The palate is complex and balanced. This is ready, but will improve.

December 10, 2017 - Terrible effort for 09. Thin, reedy and drying palate.
