December 31, 2016 - Cork turned to powder at the sight of a corkscrew but the wine was fine. Still deeply pigmented with little sediment, oak has mostly integrated leaving only a mocha patina to the intense dark berry and cherry fruit. Tinged on the edges with sweetness, not an expansive wine but the perfect thing to take to a party.

September 14, 2015 - Way exceeded expectations. Lush fruit still and really great balance. Just the perfect age. Nice long finish.

March 13, 2014 - faint red, hints of orange, in the color. red fruit, cherry, strawberry, earth, dust, spice, on the nose. medium acid, on this fruit-packed finish. eight at the tasting, agreed that this was a young wine.

March 9, 2014 - A slightly "rustic" wine, but with a lot of character I like. Some earthy notes, but plenty of spice and fruit showing as well. Great with BBQ ribs. Fully mature but not over the hill.

May 8, 2009 - I absolutely loved this wine, and was my WOTN amongst 18 others on the table. Bouquet that smelled of carmelized sugar ... then, on the palate, explossive strawberry jam flavor -- but without coming across as jammy. Drinking fabulously right now. No score, but my gut impression tells me somewhere around "92"

December 10, 2006 - After an hour of air the fruit opened up, and it's a very pleasant easy drinking dinner wine. Medium ruby color, no tannins evident, light body. Cherry fruit, nice acid. Almost Burgundian - elegant and bright. More age probably won't improve it.
