December 17, 2023 - Deep blackish crimson with a touch of brown. Nose leather, plum, cherry. Decanted. Initial taste on opening; strong tannins, cherry and raspberry. After an hour[ Smooth, bitter cherry, tannins have mellowed, savory elements more predominate, very tasty. Ei "too tannic, tastes like raisins". Final notes at dinner 3 hours later. Complex, well-balanced, cherry, chocolate, crowd pleaser, excellent with food - pasta and caeser salad. In a great drinking window right now.

March 17, 2022 - Nose of rose petals and high pitched new leather. Medium weight. Firm drying tannins with some dried cherry in the finish. Nicely balanced and good QPR.

September 23, 2021 - This was a Wine Society Vintage Cellar Plan allocation from 2011 at £26. It is now at it's peak - brick coloured and a wonderfully complex nose with the classic flavours of tar and roses with some orange peel in the background. Still slightly tannic but quite long and luxurious.
Cellar Plans can be quite hit and miss, but this has been an absolute star.

March 20, 2020 - Light red colour with a touch of brown on the edge. Cherry, tar, tobacco and a slight earthiness on the nose. Liquorice, dark cherry, tar and tobacco on the palette. Lovely smooth finish with just a touch of acid bite. Drinking beautifully.

November 22, 2019 - A very nice wine drinking very nicely. Slight brown on the edge. Nose of leather, mushroom and dark cherry. Lovely savoury taste - similar flavours to nose along with liquorice. Drinking very well.

October 5, 2019 - Medium ruby core with pronounced bloody rim. Dried herb, smoke, tar, blackcurrant, black pepper, cedar, great intensity of flavours on the long finish. Lovely balance now but with plenty of life left. Tasted alongside Luigi Baudana and this slightly edges it because of the intensity of the finish.
