January 24, 2020 - Coffee & cocoa, leather, black currants ,lightly minted.

At 19 years old the tannins has integrated well. Although is not very complex on the nose, the wine is balanced, lengthy acid, fruity & mineral core, medium dry.
Longish ending. Classic Aussie Cab sauv .

December 26, 2018 - Sort of sweet and diffuse. Porty. Full on and really jumps from the glass. Not my thing. Just too flabby, dull and - frankly - not a patch on most half decent Bordeaux.

September 8, 2018 - Coravin fun - Ready to drink (Kennards, Waterloo): From Coravin. Mint, sweet spice, ripe blackcurrant, cedar, leather, vanilla, cream. On the palate the sweet fruit is married to herbaceous notes and beef extract with monolithic tannic grip. Totally out of whack - the flavours clash and the tannins are far too drying. I'll leave this for another ten years...not that I think it will improve mind you...

March 4, 2018 - Soft cork fell apart and crumbled into many pieces, with lots of sediment in the bottle. Had to run through a fine strain and needed to be decanted, but was quite pleasantly surprised! Well balanced big cabernet, with rounded tannins and medium length enjoyable finish. Seems like it still has some good life left, if properly stored.

February 24, 2018 - Powerful, classically McLaren Vale nose - a bit sweet, a bit medicinal. Great mouthfeel. Lovely palate - a mixture of power and restraint. Just the slightest hint of development. Loads of sweet fruit that carries over into the long, slightly grippy finish. Tastes to me like it's only just into the plateau. Lots of life left here; no hurry to drink at all.
