Medium concentraiton, dark hued mahogany. On the nose, hint of flor, a whiff of umami (duck skin and soy?) and a hint of oxidation.
Rich, around 20% alcohol, feels like 10-15g RS but functionally dry given the alcohol and acid. Rich and deep and sweet almondy nutty date-like notes. Medjool date skin. Almost phenolic - bitter and hints of tannins on the finish (though it might just be a high-alcohol drying finish).
I thought there might be flor, but re-tasting, it seems purely in the oxidative flavor spectrum.

January 31, 2017 - Garnet and mahogany hues, lots going on the nose with pronounced walnut, hazelnut, coffee and walnut cake, cedar, dried apricot and sultana. The palate has tons of acidity and powerful flavours which are savoury, yeast extract, Bovril and then the coffee, walnut and hazelnut is coming through too with a huge intensity which simply can't be ignored, it almost hurts to drink it. Unsurprisingly given the intensity of the flavours the finish lasts forever. This is an extraordinary wine but I find it is an assault on the senses which I find a little too much. The score reflects its quality, the do I like it? score is my personal preference.
