April 21, 2022 - This bottle was still youthful. Red to the rim, black fruits but as others have noted not overly interesting. Possibly opened about 5-10 years too soon.
December 24, 2020 - !
July 16, 2018 - Fruit is in decline, but still a solid wine. Would drink sooner than later.
March 31, 2018 - Drank over the course of the night. Overall, was a pleasant glass to drink but frankly fairly boring. Not complex or unique. A smooth nice tasting cab. Not as impressive as what I was hoping for from a 2007 Stags Leap.
December 26, 2017 - Not bad, just ho hum. Had with prime rib and it was without any noticible character. Have had this wine in the collection since 2009 anticipating 10-year old greatness. disappointing.
December 9, 2017 - 2.5 hour decant. Cedar, Black cherry, tobacco, dust, spice. Wonderful.
December 8, 2017 - Sat in decanter for an hour. Cedar on the nose, with a hint of cigars. Licorice, dates, hint of blackberry at first, rich and bold with a dry finish. Great bottle.
December 1, 2017 - Solid cab. 1 hour decant. A fair amount of dirt, but well integrated tannins still allow the fruit through. Really nice with a ribeye!
October 15, 2017 - Drinking perfectly right now. Japanese plum, black currant, amid, cinnamon, and caramel. Delicious!
September 9, 2017 - This ten year old SLV is drinking really well. Deep inky purple in the glass, with an aromatic nose of black fruit. Rich taste of blackberry, black currant and dark chocolate, well-structured with rounded tannins. Medium-long finish. Definitely has many more years of aging potential, but excellent right now.
