June 13, 2020 - Very golden yellow in color that was disconcerting. Not spoiled, however, on either nose or palate. Drank decently despite absence of fruit. Mostly minerals of limestone and crushed rocks. Slightly bitter and earthy. My drinking partner liked it better than me, but we did kill the bottle.

July 21, 2018 - Golden yellow in color. Nose of peach and minerals. Nice palate of butter, popcorn and minerals and some earthiness. Very nice.

January 6, 2014 - Deep gold color. Butterscotch, caramel, pear, custard and mango aromas. Awesome combo of acidity and ripe fruits that include pineapple, melon and citrus with vanilla cream on the long finish. Beautifully rich and balanced with what to me is perfect use of oak. Not oily or flabby at all. Outstanding. 92. This paired well with crostini of multi-grain baguette, canteloupe, fresh mozzarella, walnuts and drizzled honey.

August 15, 2012 - Found a lone bottle on close out for $20. Decanted for half an hour or so before being served with dinner- lobster, clams and mussels. Notes of vanilla, apple, coconut and banana. Full-bodied, with toast, coconut and tropical fruit flavors; buttered popcorn nuances on the finish. Worked well for everyone's lobster, but not something I'd seek out on a regular basis or at regular price.

June 17, 2012 - Not my kind of wine but, structurally, it is well made. A big, honkin' California Chardonnay, this has very pronounced popcorn butter, vanilla bean, incense, smoke and cream notes on the nose and palate as well as baked apple and pear, grilled pineapple and a very full bodied feel. Never the kind of wine I would seek out, but with some lobster with drawn butter or risotto with mild mushrooms, I could see it working well.
