October 7, 2019 - Made with grapes sourced from +45 yo vineyards located in Pajé and Carso Crus. Fermented spontaneously for 10 days with indigenous yeasts in large oak casks, part of the wine is macerated with the skins for 3 months. Aged for a year in neutral old oak barrels. 13% alcohol.

Pale, somewhat translucent and slightly hazy ruby red color. The nose feels ripe yet slightly subdued with aromas of raspberry leaf tea, some leathery tones, a little bit of fresh red cherry, light pruney fruits and a hint of earth. Overall the aromas are lacking intensity and the nose doesn't give mcuh. The wine is dry-ish, moderately full-bodied and slightly wild with rich flavors of sweet, raisiny fruit, some leathery funk, a little bit of sour cherry bitterness, light lifted notes of ethery VA, sweeter hints of blueberries and wild strawberries and a hint of crunchy cranberry. The wine is high in acidity with gently grippy medium tannins. The finish is lively and juicy with moderately grippy tannins and lengthy flavors of brambly blackberries, some developed raisiny tones, a little bit of bretty barnyard and a hint of blueberry.

A ripe, juicy and very balanced Dolcetto with great sense of harmony and a nice, funky undertone. Contrasting the usually heavy, ponderous and noticeably ripe 2009 Piedmontese wines, this wine shows surprisingly little if any of that hot vintage character and the overall style here is very fresh and well-proportioned. A nice and enjoyable effort.

July 16, 2016 - Very dark and really quite serious wine. Dark fruits of undefinable character. Finely textured and well-balanced. Fine food wine.

December 6, 2014 - Damn, what a joyful, interesting, sappy, honest dinner wine.

    March 11, 2013 - Corked!

February 13, 2013 - This has softened considerably since my last bottle. Lovely cherry fruit with floral aromatics. Acidity still present but tannins are nowhere to be found. Gulpable and great food wine.
