February 6, 2017 - Petrol on nose. Meyer lemon, tart citrus. Steely and fairly unforgiving- this didn't budge much over two days. I prefer a bit more residual sugar for pairing with spicy Asian cuisine, and this was a bit lacking.

July 10, 2016 - WineFest in Toronto (Mike Grammer); 7/10/2016-7/12/2016 (Mike Grammer's (parents home) in Toronto): One of those wines I give the benefit of the doubt to based on history. Don't get me wrong, it was excellent, but very tight. It took some vigorous swirling to coax out some flavors. A bit of petrol on the nose. Some grapefruit and minerals. Mike called this "lime" as in the mineral. I can agree with that. Ever so slightly sweet at this stage. There is a great texture. I meant to go back, but didn't make it there. I would hold for now or give it lots of air. I think this will be better in 5 years.

May 13, 2016 - An Evening of Aussie Legends to Inaugurate Our New Wine Tasting Group (A Relatively Secret Room in Buellton, CA): Just entering its prime drinking window, and unsurprisingly benefited from air through the course of the evening. I love the muscular style of these dry Rieslings. Signature petrol nose. Vibrant and powerful flavors of lime, slate and saline. At is best as it rose near room temperature, picking up some power and viscocity. Very long finish.

(Grosset Polish Hill Riesling (Clare Valley)) Stelvin screwcap. This wine has a more pure, defined and lifted character on the nose, with bright notes of melon and honeysuckle here; it certainly suggests a more elegant style. Quite medium bodied on the palate, the wine showing an appealing citrus fruit character over a well judged substance and a slowly building structure of pith-laden acidity. A good, sappy finish which puckers and layers the palate with notes of white peach and pepper. A very impressive wine.
