January 21, 2024 - ABV: 14.5%. At approximately 24-years-old, this Cab is absolutely astounding! Upon opening, notes of roasted herbs and Chambord immediatley explode from the glass. On the palate, there's a gush of juicy red fruits, lifted by well-integrated acidity with a smooth mouthfeel from the soft tannins. There's a super lengthy finish that lasts for at least a minute. Above all, this wine is beautifully balanced so I'm giving it a near-perfect score. There's still a little bit of grip from the tannins so I think it can improve with a little more time in the cellar. If you're opening your bottle soon, a quick decant wouldn't hurt because my bottle has been opened for 4-5 hours and the wine's still perfectly intact. If I recall correctly, 2000 wasn't a great vintage in Napa, but I guarantee this wine will outperform any 2000 Bordeaux within the same price range.

1/22/2024 - Raised the score by one point. 24 hours after opening, the tannins have dissolved to reveal an exquisite Cab that far surpassed my expectations. The aromatics on the nose is still abundant, exhibiting dark red and black fruits, Chambord, crème de cassis, roasted herbs, and a little leather. These characteristics carry over to the palate and is now even more enhanced by the silky-smooth texture. I didn't think this wine was capable of getting jucier than yesterday, but I was clearly wrong. The finish is lengthier than yesterday with more pronounced fruit profiles. If you have a bottle of this wine in your cellar, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

May 30, 2014 - Both were still very good, signs of age but still with life left

December 9, 2012 - Began enjoying this an hour after decanting. So soft and full of body, fruit and leather. Blue and black berries predominate. Lingering long lasting finish. Just perfect for a special holiday evening.
