July 30, 2023 - A big, bold wine ,75% Syrah, 25% Petite Syrah , 15.6% abv. A commanding presence, very rich and concentrated dark fruits, blackberry plum blueberry. Lots of spice, cinnamon, baking spices. This 2008 seems to be on it's downward descent after recently peaking. Long finish. Wonderful nose
June 25, 2023 - Found this to be delicious and not at all on the decline. Paired with duck. Full bodied - but not teeth staining - new world syrah that is smooth and complex.
April 17, 2023 - Having recently drank this vintage I gave it a 2 hr decant which wasn't enough. This wine really evolved over the time it was open. Incredible wine, rich flavors, blackberry pepper raspberry leather blueberry . Great balance and a long finish.
March 21, 2023 - This was an almost overpowering bottle of wine. Extraordinarily rich and powerful. Great legs, great fruit forward taste and very long on the palate.
February 26, 2023 - Drank this incredible wine during a visit by my sister and brother in law. Named #1 by Wine Spectator in 2012. 15 yr old and in perfect drinking condition. 75% Syrah, 25% Petite Sirah. Perfectly balanced, very long persistence on the palate, intense rich aromas and flavors, and incredible complexity. Brother-in-law said best wine he's ever drank. What a treat. Wine of the visit.
