August 7, 2014 - Black cherry and maybe a little pomegranate fruit. Dark ruby color and smooth, but not quite silky, mouth feel. Some root beer and lots of earthiness. That eartth dominates the finish and it was nice with a mojo pork risotto.
April 15, 2014 - Dark ruby, fresh earth on the nose. Palate is all black cherry, followed by some earth notes. Good wine, drinking well now, unlikely to improve further.
November 9, 2013 - A bit heavy and simple.
April 19, 2013 - The more I have of RRV pinot noir the more I realize that it is not a style that I care for. This bottle was too sweet for my tastes and the alcohol, labeled at 14.7, was really noticeable. Could not finish the bottle.
December 4, 2012 - Similar tasting notes to previous bottle.
September 22, 2012 - Significantly better balanced than the previous 2 bottles. Tasty ripe red cherries and spice on the nose and palate with pleasant acidity on the finish.
May 29, 2012 - Candied cherry and spice on the nose and palate with hint of bitterness on the finish.
February 27, 2012 - Still recovering from a cold, but this just tastes like cough syrup!
December 27, 2011 - Opened Christmas day but never tasted due to a fever I was fighting. The comments I heard were that this was a little leaner and spicier than the Williams selyem RRV.
May 29, 2011 - Smooth, cherry pinot.
