  December 10, 2017 - This needs hours in the glass to tame the aggressive black fruit with an austere and bitter finish. Nose of black currants, black berry, black cherry, tree bark and clove. With time in the glass, develops a lush, med bodied, soft fruit that still finishes with a bit of astringency but with integrated tannins and some pepper. 88+

  February 7, 2016 - Very enjoyable. Plenty of dark red fruit, a little chocolate. Smooth, with soft tannins.

  June 18, 2015 - The first Rubicon wine I haven't liked. Rough tannins, bitter, astringent finish. Truly not enjoyable, even after a few days to mellow.
