June 19, 2022 - 11 years in the back of the box, finally getting to one of these. $30.
My first experience with this house (Socre), and probably my first Barbaresco from Roncaglie which seems to be on the far western edge of Barbar, south of Roccalini. A bit rustic but I really like the tar and pepper of this wine, lots of mineral as well. It is bigger bones than I was expecting but not in a bad way. Tannins are firm, length is medium and persistent. This is missing the elegance I like from the region, but as with almost all wines of the region, the quality is very high.

May 6, 2022 - Lovely wine, elegant, delicious. I don’t see how it would improve as it seems to me perfectly integrated.

December 25, 2021 - Very elegant on the palate and finish. Ripe cherry gives way to tar and leather. Soft & supple with waves of flavors.

November 16, 2020 - First bottle since 2013 and this is really singing now. Great blend of fruit, tannins, soil and herbs. Heady nose and luscious mouthful. In its perfect drinking window for the next 4 - 5 years.

April 18, 2020 - Rather linear, oak-influenced. Lacks the nuance, elegance and mystery of the best Barbaresco. Fine but nothing special. Still big tannin. Drink or hold.
