September 30, 2017 - From a half-bottle purchased in Lisbon in 2016. Nice ruby-black colour, fairly dark but not opaque. Upon opening, on the nose, aromas of liquorice, followed by plum, mint, toffee and cassis brightness. Still timid. On the palate, WOW! This is where it is happening! A tightly wound bomb-like fruity sweet attack of dark berries, liquorice, toffee, but also something powerfully herbal and floral. After a few moments, this switches over to a plummy-raisiny toffee touch with a very good length which finished on blueberry. Under all of this, very grippy tannins, though still somewhat hidden by the sweet fruit. I don't think this is ready, but it is in an interesting phase. Will see how it evolves over the next few hours. Currently 93-94, but with upwards potential.

March 30, 2017 - This is one of those "oh my god" ports. Syrupy with an inky purple color, the nose is dominated by de cassis but yields to show toffee, mint, floral notes. Palate coating with intensely sweet fruit, endless rich flavors, and the finish must last for half an hour. Not even close to mature but amazing to drink now

(TAYLOR FLADGATE VINTAGE PORT) #3; NOSE-like Ware's, more cherry, but also chocolate; TASTE-extemely good, love it, but doesn't have the extra sparkle that the Warre's is showing; WA(Pierre Rovani)-98, V-93

(Taylor's Vintage Port) Lovely nose, with a typical Taylor's feminine, elegant style, alongside dark fruits and beetroot notes. Concentration here, but with finesse. A slightly raw edge to the tannins, but with good firm acids, and a feminine fruit style. Has the style, and the structure to go the distance. Good potential.
