November 7, 2016 - Weekly tasting group RWP #235: Tuscany (@ BS): In the bouquet dark forest fruits, laurel, leather and chocolate. On the palate dark and red berries, vanilla and beautiful oaky flavors, juicy acidity and good tannin with still a good bite. Beautiful wine in its young maturity stage and with still a good future. 91 - 92+?

June 26, 2016 - Lovely Supertuscan. Some cherry cola from the Sangiovese with an edge of black currant from the Cab. Medium tannins suggest wine is now fully ready. Drank well with roast beef and all the trimmings

December 28, 2015 - Decanted for 2 hours brought to Christmas dinner and consumed 2 hours later. Layers of dark rich fruit with moderate acidity and a long finish. The wine continued to open over the following hour. A Tuscan beauty. Avvoltore is a blend of 75% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Syrah.

October 20, 2015 - A week in Tuscany (and Lots of wines); 10/19/2015-10/21/2015 (Tuscany, Italy): Off the list in a restaurant in Montespertoli, Tuscany. My favorite winery name in Italy. And this wine is just as good. IIRC, this is a Cab/sangiovese blend (maybe other stuff too). Ruby/purple in color. The nose has cassis and cherries with anise, white pepper and charred earth. On the palate, this is in a good spot. Cassis and cherries with mocha notes. Layers of complexity. Nice balance. Lovely texture. Long finish. Great with our dinner. Around 65 Euros off the list and well worth it.

March 6, 2015 - Old World Blind Tasting Group $40+ (Bin 75): Darker core with garnet rim; rich nose of black currant, green pepper, licorice, spicy; palate smoother than nose suggests, fresh fruit, seamless texture; best example of this to date, very good.
