December 25, 2023 - Had with Cassoulet on Christmas Eve. Perfect pairing. It was in magnum form which may have sustained the wine. It was definitely pnp. Crisp, balanced, linear. I was concerned when I first pulled the cork because there was a little funk. It blew off in about ten minutes and the wine came alive. I kept the cork in throughout the meal.
Dark, rich, ripe cherry, beautiful dark red fruit, a hint of spice. I'm not sure how much longer this wine has. I would say a few more years at most. Pull the cork with a hearty southern French meal and enjoy.

December 19, 2022 - See how this develops. Kinda thin and austere. Some tertiary elements peeking through.
*2nd night picked up body and viscosity. Still austere. This bottle is just closed. Needs lots more time like ten at optimal storage temp. Could open up more next couple nights. I’ll see.

February 25, 2022 - Well I was wrong in terms of staying power, this is a perfectly mature neuf in great harmony and balance. There is a core of sweet Grenache here but what is most striking is the harmony, the seemless build;: no signs of a warm vintage, this is aging gracefully.

October 26, 2021 - The nose pops with all those ripe, peppery red berries, pit fruits, herbs and kirsch. Medium-bodied, round, soft, sweet and spicy, the wine finishes with mildly jammy, sweet, exotic kirsch notes. This is fully developed and should be consumed over the next 5 years or so.

July 21, 2021 - Dark color, rich opulent palate, plenty of life in it and pleasant to drink now. I think it would have been better with air, but the bottle disappeared quickly.

Had to laugh when I saw the Premier Cru import label -- someone actually got their wine from those crooks!

July 7, 2021 - Rich red and tawny rim.
Smooth, salty, ripe fruit and roasted earth, plums, tar, gorgeous spice.
Earthy, aged fruits, soft plump texture, fine acidity, richly flavoured. Roast meats, dried herbs, licorice, tar spice. Excellent fine tannins. Drinking beautifully, certainly a developed profile but very virile intensity.

June 27, 2021 - Mag Dinner 2021 (Il Giallo, Sandy Springs, GA): From magnum; color looks good, translucent maroon; nose shows ripe raspberries and kirsch, all fruit, still youthful, just missing that extra level of refinement or character that I'm looking for in Centenaire.

June 16, 2021 - My last note said elegant, but tightly wound and not showing much…try again in 2 years. 11 years later, my reaction was basically the same. Unlike the ripe and extracted CndPs of this era that are either a floppy mess or have fallen apart, I like the concept of this wine, but at this point, the question is whether it will really come around. We’ll see
