November 13, 2020 - Would guess St. Esteph if blind. Pretty much all secondary flavors and scents. A little brett. If you are looking for Napa-like fruit forward Cab, this is not it. If you are looking for soft tannins, earth, cedar....this is it. Still has 10 years of life left, maybe more.

Nice nose and nice body. Finish couldn’t compare to some of the other vintages in this vertical

August 19, 2020 - this was beautiful, thank goodness cuz I saw my note from June which said wait ten years!, anyway, this was on the red side vis-a-vis fruit, with nice acidity for lift, and some nice spice / umami element (pretty prominent) to provide complexity... nonetheless it was an enjoyable drink with full-minus body (and not 'too big' as my last note would have suggested

July 24, 2020 - Drank for my middle daughter’s pre-graduation ceremony dinner. 4 hr slow ox did the trick. Simply gorgeous. Oak and tannins have receded. Expressive red fruited beauty, with camphor/eucalyptus, forest floor, wet rock, burning embers. Blind you pick Dunn if you know Dunn and this is no different. Plenty of acid left to go many more years,

June 20, 2020 - even after 2-3 hours in decanter, this still seemed a tad bit big / brutish / dark, it is Dunn Howell so maybe not a surprise, but feels like its possible it is going to be that way (maybe a little less over time) forever, certainly would suggest waiting another 5-10 years to try it, hopefully it can bring a tiny bit of elegance alongside its big structure / fruit... we'll see

(Dunn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain) Bricking very dark red violet color; tart berry, tart cassis, tart blackberry, spice berry nose; tasty, rich, poised, tart blackberry, tart black cherry palate; approachable now but could use 2 years; medium-plus finish
