December 23, 2020 - Nose of straw and freshly rained on soil. Big mouth of passionfruit and melted butter. Long finish of castelvetrano olives, buttered popcorn and atouch of bitterness. Should be good for at least a few more years.

October 1, 2016 - Lovely ripe pear, lemon & honey and wax nose. Palate a bit less inspiring, pear notes are fading, slightly hot woody notes, touch of lemon, crisp acidity, drink soon

October 9, 2014 - Delicious, full-bodied white with firm but not exaggerated acidity, no wood, and just a hint of residual sweetness to give it a rich mouth feel. A bit muted in terms of fragrances, it is a full-flavored wine with mild peach, mild lemon, minerals, chalk and a subtle spiciness. Could accompany a wide variety of foods. Widely available from $14 to $20, this is a good QPR.

May 28, 2014 - Found more of this in a clearance bin. $9. Can't go wrong. This really opens up and softens out as it warms. Best at around 60 degrees.

November 7, 2012 - A great and complex bottle of wine with a nice QPR. This to me is an underrated varietal. Would be awesome with Indian, Thai, or even salmon.

August 8, 2012 - I like this a lot. Almost seems like a winter white, because it's quite heavy and viscous. Some honeyed fruit and beeswax. Got this on closeout for $5, making it the best $5 bottle I've ever bought.

June 24, 2012 - This wine really pleasantly surprised me. Enjoyed last night at Lake Hickory CC with good CT wine buddy neighborbill and spouses. Clear, pale yellow, vibrant, fresh and crisp, intense and acidic with well balanced fleshy fruit and overall much drier then I had anticipated, quite a good QPR at this price point and I really recommend it. Nose austere with acid, white fruit and a hint of white pepper. Primary flavors included controlled acid, lemongrass and citrus up front with a warmer fruitier but still dry finish. This wine is in a sweet spot for me in terms of how I like my white wines these days. Very versatile, would pair with a lot and has enough body, fruit and acid for a few years of cellaring.

May 15, 2012 - This is a clear, pale gold with a nose of medium-plus intensity. There is a prevalent waxy note with nuts, chalky minerals, melon rind and a background of pleasant herbs. The palate shows a medium acidity with much of the nose carrying through along with white blossoms. This is all drawn up in a full, round body and a medium-plus finish. Overall, this is a good to very good semillon.
