July 6, 2017 - This is in a really nice place. Surprising, as my last try I thought this was starting to go past its prime. VA much less evident in this bottle. Tannins fully resolved.

July 2, 2017 - (Lunch at Mudali's) earthy, concentrated, yet elegant. Dark florals, spice and great acid balance. Drinking much better than previous bottles. No signs of flagging. In a great place. Pity last bottle.

May 26, 2017 - This has wowed me today. Gorgeous strawberry fruit on nose and palate, deep garnet colour with no visible signs of tiredness despite its 12 years. Viva Stelvin seals. Excellent structure and moorishness. Medium length - very acceptable for the mid-level price. A real good one.

August 3, 2015 - (random mid-week bottle) Ruby garnet in glass, color intensity, and fine sediments, including interesting presence of fine tartrate crystals - I've never seen it in a red wine before, hmmmm (acidification??)... Rounded soft red cherries on the nose, along with cola nut, mocha and raspberries, with pleasant woodland undergrowth. Surprising spritz on the palate, gives way to a gentle explosion of dark floral roses and red berries, savoury bovril, residual fruit sweetness, gentle leathers, and graphite bitters. Plush acidity, yet focused, effortless and somewhat translucent. Developing nicely, definitely survived the shipping, and an earthy, lingering finish showing some characteristic yarra ferrousness (initially off-putting, but disappears with time), autumn leaves and bitter pastilles. Yummy, and easy drinking, pairing perfectly w cantonese roast meats. Given the acid balance, will easily continue to develop to show more secondary characters.

September 27, 2014 - Great example of an aged pinot. Nice aged earthy notes, savoury. Medium to long finish. Drink now as it is drinking at its peak.
