February 5, 2024 - HELLAGOOD note below nails my repeat experience. Same over the weekend. But I still stand behind saying that this is more of a personal observation and others will like this much more. My guest for the evening loved this.

January 19, 2024 - My first time trying this producer. Decanted two hours. Brick color and stewed fruit in the nose. Jammy fruit, oak, some earth, and heavy tannins. I would have never guessed Margaux. This drinks more like a Cali cab or a heavily oaked Tempranillo. There’s no sense of place here. As always, it’s a matter of taste. If you like jammy wines with heavy oak influence and strong tannic structure then this is for you. But I don’t think most people purchase Margaux with the expectation of this kind of drinking experience.

September 1, 2023 - dD, 30 minutes in bottle: dark ruby, closed on the nose at first, dark fruit, medium body, smooth tannins, more fruit/body in glass, but still fairly primary, nice spice on finish; remaining few ounces opened after a day in fridge, increased cedar, dark chocolate, more delineation

March 13, 2023 - No doubt that this is a big wine. Its deep and dark with high extract and lots of oak influence. It really takes allot of fruit to hide all this oak and I would suspect that the more time that goes by, the harder the balancing act is going to be. This wine feels like a very big and aged St. Emilion now and I would be totally hard pressed to mark this as a Margaux if it was in a bag. Honestly, not much Bordeaux in this box after 14 years. I opened this as a pairing to a 2006 Blankiet Rive Droite for my wife. Once I revealed both wines to her, she was surprised that the Marjollaia was French and further impressed by the aging Blankiet. She also complemented me on my pairing selection...pat pat
I would Drink this over the next 3 years...Drink1 person found this helpful Comment -

October 28, 2020 - This is what happens when you don't look at scores before drinking. I'd forgotten price/ratings of this wine and just pulled it out of the cellar. Thought it was solid with good complexity but the fruit was totally hidden (if there at all). So while a serious, well-made wine, I was at low 90 or 91. Shocked beyond all belief to see almost 94 average. What do I know? I'd give this a few more years though.
