August 16, 2019 - Pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, eucalyptus, leather, black raspberry, black cherry, and herbs. Palate: Medium bodied, spicy dark red fruit attack, spice persists thru the mid-palate with gritty tannins and dark earth notes appearing in the back-end. Finish: Medium-plus length dominated by eucalyptus, ripe dark red fruit, and dark earth. This is drinking wonderfully at the moment, still fresh and vibrant, easily 3-5 years left here. My first Tasmania Cabernet, similar to the better Margaret River Cabernets I've tasted, good stuff!
March 3, 2019 - Cellaraid Discovery Box; 5/19/2017-12/13/2019 (Delivered to Home): Deep dark ruby, and an explosive plum-driven nose, with some mint coolness later. Very fruity and fleshy, with lots of cassis laced with cool mint, and then some peppery herbs, liquorice, and graphite. Also rather burnish, but somehow the tannins seemed very resolved whilst still being in the midst of explosive black fruits. Pretty intriguing
January 27, 2019 - Colour is losing its vibrancy and browning around the rim. Smells like tobacco, graphite, black currants, old leather and dried eucalyptus. Tannin is smooth and slightly powdery giving a soft but unmistakable grip. Great length. Acid maybe a little pokey but not enough to ruin the enjoyment. Tastes old world. Probably won’t gain much from further cellaring. But it’s beautiful now and I’d drink up over the next 5 years.

November 17, 2017 - Color slightly bricked...nose is somewhat prune, cassis, spice....
Flavor is leather fruit vegetal minerality...
I sort of like it but don't love it......there is some flavor I can't define

November 6, 2017 - here's a better thing. Darker and richer than the 08, but the palate lighter and more refined. Dark choc, Violet perfume, blackcurrant overrides. This is a slick cab
October 1, 2017 - As per my last note, this is a wine that is focused on structure and finesses. On the palate there are red fruits, plums, cedar, chocolate. It's medium bodied and medium weight. The tannins are firm but tightly integrated into a long, lingering finish. Very enjoyable with a long life ahead.
August 27, 2017 - Pencil shavings, ripe dark berries, tobacco. Beautiful nose, structure, balance, complexity - this has it all. Another excellent Domaine A. (93 Excellent wine)
August 22, 2017 - Monthly Men's Wine Dinner (Carmine's Bellevue): I haven't had much Tasmanian wine but this one was delicious. Chocolate notes leapt out right away and I placed it as a Napa Cabernet about 10 years old. Not bad if it tastes like Napa! It evolved well throughout the evening and was #3 of 5 for both me and the group.
April 30, 2017 - Big cassis, smoke and green capsicum notes on the nose. Smooth and light tannins on the palate, with brighter fruit notes both black and red. Medium+ finish fruity rather than spice. Can last another 5+ years I'm guessing
