April 11, 2013 - Consistent with prior notes. Still drinking nicely. A plum and boysenberry fruit bomb with a mild acidity and an attractive, stony minerality on the finish. Not especially complex, but very enjoyable. It's like Italian Beaujolais.
September 24, 2012 - Excellent value. Muted fruit gives way to nice balance and finish. Drink now
August 31, 2012 - Consistent with my prior notes. A very nice, straightforward Barbera. Lots of tangy plum and vanilla character on the nose and palate. Nicely focused with a gentle acidity, there's also a touch of oak on the moderately long finish. Not a lot of complexity, but very enjoyable and easy to drink. Year after year this Chiarlo Barbera is an excellent value.
July 16, 2012 - Butch really liked it, so give it a shot.
May 18, 2012 - Consistent with my previous note. This is an inexpensive, fairly straightforward Barbera that offers lots of tangy plum and dark berry character. There's a nice, stony minerality on the finish which adds some complexity. Very drinkable and excellent value at under $11.
March 12, 2012 - kind of blaaaaaaa. No real description comes forth.
March 7, 2012 - Shy nose, crushed red berries. Palate is quite acidic and austere, really not giving up much. Stony finish, short. Fine mid-week for the price.
March 2, 2012 - Good Barbera good fruit a bit hard
February 7, 2012 - Black licorice, not too sweet,
January 22, 2012 - Good all around Barbara ... A repeat "go-to" wine
