December 13, 2023 - Salon Ficofi Paris walkabout tasting and dinner, no detailed tasting notes. From DMG. Rich, oaky sweet. Better tannins than the Solaia next to it, but not very sophisticated either.

May 13, 2022 - It's shocking how fresh and youthful this wine is tasting. If I were guessing blind, I would say it couldn't be more than ten years old, which of course, would be dead wrong. Cherries, tapenade, tobacco, bay leaf and white flowers are lovely and aromatic on the nose. The palate is still firm and super fresh, with lovely acidity and cut. Medium bodied, well integrated with structure to last, it shows excellent precision and focus. The tertiary notes have emerged nicely and show off good complexity. Medium bodied, the only thing this wine really lacks is a bit of depth and concentration.

March 15, 2022 - Still powerfull but has nice acidity to counter the power of the fruit. Long finish but still not getting the price paid for this

September 5, 2020 - 2020 Athens Wine Event (Tartare, Athens): Tasted blind. Young and. Fresh and powerful and had all the hallmarks of a monocepage Merlot, cherry picked grape by grape . Probably a wine that is vintage agnostic given the amount of refinement in the selection of the grapes.
Dark and dense but not heavy, rich and powerful but with an elegance and is actually silky and round. Still very young and Andreas wend for a Sonoma Merlot from Verite front he early 2000s. Upon told it’s an old world wine we both went with Masseto 2004 thinking this level of fruit needs a big vintage like 2004. Very surprised this was the 2002. This is a superb result of a lot of care but unfortunately much like many of these wines they do become dull at some point as the perfectionist in the winemakers hand also takes away part of the randomness that creates complexity on the palate. This will last another 20years and we would actually plead with owners to let it rest another 10 years before opening. Andreas 94 / Nicol 96 So a 95 from us
