October 22, 2022 - Bright lemon, superb minerality. Pure elegance. Elegance is not a word I have used with Meursault. Richness, sure. So perfectly light on its feet. No sign of its endgame. So wonderful there is no reason to wait for anything different. Meursault at its best.
December 23, 2020 - Great balance of steely minerality and richness. Great textbook meursault.
November 16, 2018 - This is singing but still has the structure to keep going. One picks up an array of traditional Meursault notes with sea shells, jonogold apple, lime cordial, some salt, and freshly churned butter. The palate is vibrantly deep and complex with terrific verve. Here one gets more of that vervy acidity than generous fruit the nose implies. Clearly just beginning to come out of its shell as this is still structured for the Long haul. Excellent.
March 10, 2017 - 2 hr decant, nose is of oak and lemon with significan esters showing; palate is honeyed and full of mellow nuts/lemon and oak. Shame to have opened this at this point, much better down the road but still a nice experience. Could have been much better if the oak was showing less, but time should help
June 11, 2016 - Ripe candied oranges and tangerines, with a whiff of Meursault macadamia, an offputting stinky reductive note, and a fair amount of noticeable oak. There's enough acidity but this hasn't quite digested the oak yet. Decent concentration but not the suggestion of Grand Cru power this vineyard can have, with a tannic mineral feel. I'd like this better if it were less oaky and reductive. Doesn't quite show the potential of the site.
April 6, 2015 - Tightly bound up by its sulphur. A big whiff of struck match fills the nostrils. It has some citrus blossom and white peach notes as well. It is full in the mouth with a fruit sweet heart and good minerally line. The finish is dusted with chalk and length is impressive.
July 1, 2014 - Wine tasting Egge (At Stian's): Light yellow. Intense and heavy. Butter and herbs. Spicy and smokey on the palate, long finish.
December 2, 2013 - Lemon yellow in color. This is rich, slightly concentrated with restraint orchard fruit that saturates the palate. This all comes together with good minerality and acidity(especially for the vintage) to liven up the palate. Finishes with a elegant, buttery texture. A very good 2009 white burgundy!
May 15, 2012 - A nice wine showing a nice glossy appearance with a beautiful golden color from core to rim. The nose shows a complexity of aromas, however they are quite precise leading to a particular point. An initial note of gun powder, smoke, that later reveals smells of cashew fruits, passion fruit, a hint of pineapple, orange rind, peaches, cantaloupe, white flowers, and crushed stones. On the palate the wine exudes concentrated flavors of lemon oil, pineapples, guava, and roasted almonds from the attack all the way to the finish. The mid-palate is dominated by refreshing acidity, that continues into the finish merging with the tangy crushed rock flavors. A delicate mid-bodied wine that speaks quietly exuding elegance, with velvety texture, that shows utter balance.
March 1, 2012 - spice, minerally, nectarine nose. very bright and racy on palate - minerally, grapefruit peel. more weight than the poruzots.
