April 12, 2024 - Raveneau MdT and Chapelot (Chicago, IL): Ugh, this is so good. Like the 2014, this is pure mineral extract, with the same intensity and chewy density that its younger sibling had. But what stands out here is the very 2008 hint of botrytis. And while in general I'm not particularly keen on noble rot in my chardonnay, that hint here, coupled with all the mineral extract works fantastically well. Complex, layered, and chiselled. What a wine.

August 4, 2023 - Citrus, anise, iodine. Great Chablis, good Raveneau. Good clarity, pure, bright acidity. Drink over the next few years.

July 15, 2023 - Decanted for 2 hours. This has developed into a beautiful wine. Pale yellow color. Nose of honey, oyster shells, and lemon. Crisp, tightly delineated palate, chalky and dry with a lovely texture and deep citrus infused flavors. Much better than my last bottle 3 years ago.

May 25, 2023 - Winetasting dinner Raveneau, Rousseau, Liger Belair, DRC (FB (E.S.)): Pale gold colour. I love the typical Raveneau aromas of toast. Aromas fade away pretty fast. Very high acidity

March 26, 2023 - Heater week; 3/26/2023-4/3/2023 (Chicago, IL): Next to the Montée de Tonnerre, I preferred this wine. Whereas the MdT was rounder, broader, and slightly diffuse, this was more intense with its laser-like minerality and acidity. Taut and electric, this was just much more exciting to drink (and paired especially well with some otoro and hotate sushi). One of those bottles of Chablis that reminds me of how good the wines can be; a shame about the current market price.

May 17, 2020 - Popped and poured. Lemon infused minerals, white flowers and light, lacking some of the seashore elements typical of Raveneau. The palate is initially lean and spare, but broadens on the mid-palate to a more oily and mouth coating texture that has a lemon edge. Long finish, much better than the last bottle of this wine.

July 13, 2019 - Popped and poured at Bird Dog. Lemon, honey, and brined spice on the nose. Fairly lean and acidic palate, Watery and lacking in concentration, compared to an 07 PYCM MP.

October 25, 2018 - The big Raveneau tasting (Kjell Tores Mat - Oslo): Warm and elegant with a nose of ripe citrus and tropical fruits. Botrytis on the palate in a lovely cinnamon bun finish. Really fresh, delicate and well-balanced.

April 29, 2018 - Nez un peu exotique avec des note beurrées. Bouche assez ronde, mais avec un grande tension. Finale très sèche, saline et minérale. Un vin de texture construit sur la structure. Assez austère. 92+
