Community Tasting Notes 2

October 24, 2012 - It took a few minutes for the nose to open with lovely old leather, dark cherry and plum. Floral. Just like the '06, this wine reminded me of Italy with that typical Italian funk which I like. Almost like a cross if nebbiolo and sangiovese. Balanced, no heat.
Tannins a quite dry on the finish so based on that, I would not wait too long to drink the remaining bottles,
Grenache, syrah, Cab Sauv, Cinsault and Mourvedre. This cuvee is now called Le Vallon (since 2007).

October 12, 2012 - Quite interesting - rhone blend including a bit of cab sauv, whole cluster, a bit of carbonic, no new oak. Quite appealing initially but brett comes on strong with air, diminishing enthusiasm quite a bit.
